Selera Kampung Tiki | Kontik Restautant @ Federal Hotel Kuala Lumpur

The month of Ramadan is the biggest festival of Muslims and also the month whereby friends and families come together to share meal; and breaking fast together. However, everything since to be different since year 2020 due to pandemic. What we have to do in order to stay safe id follow the SOP and social distancing.

This year, I am very glad that I was invited by Kontiki Restaurant and my bestie Rachael Loh from Foodilifecious to Buka Puasa together.

Over 100 Authentic Traditional Kampung Dishes

Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Federal Hotel has been around since 1957 and also a favorite place for buffet lovers around Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

With the additional health & hygiene and safety protocols applied by Kontiki Restaurant, you probably will think that the food selections will be limited. Fret not, there were still more than 100 authentic traditional Kampung dishes to choose from for all the buffet lovers. This including the ever-lasting favorites from Tunku’s Kitchen. Of course, the Tunku refers to Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, first Prime Minister of Malaysia.

This year, Kontiki Restaurant has setup the Kampung style live-action stalls and few Pasar Malam style food stalls next to the poolside with the pelita and star lights to enhance the festive celebration mood.

You can get everything from starter such as salad, lemang, serunding (meat floss) to main dish such as satay, noodles, fried seafood to delightful dessert such as cakes, ice-cream, Nyonya kuih and more.
