Streat Thai @ Jaya One, PJ

STREAT Thai (not STREET Thai) is one of the busiest restaurants in Jaya one which specializes in authentic Thai street eats all the way from Thailand – just like the name suggests.

The atmosphere at Streat Thai reflecting the traditional Thai street food fare, which reminds me of my previous Bangkok trip – I really miss Thailand…..

For drinks, we were served with…….

Thai Milk Tea [RM5.90]
Fresh Coconut Smoothie [RM8.90]

Fried Chicken Wings [RM17.90] – the wings were well marinated, juicy and have a crunchy crisp skin that lock all the herbs aromatic in it. Fingers-licking good!!!!

Tom Yum Porridge with Seafood and Minced Chicken [RM21.90] – comes with a generous portion of fresh seafood including salmon, squid, prawns and minced chicken. This is a surprising favorite of the day and it’s basically like you are eating Tom Yum noodle but in a creamy porridge version. P.S.- do stir well before eating.

Tom Yum Clear Porridge with Chicken [RM14.90] – a clear tom yum version came with chicken wing, minced chicken, drumstick, chicken balls and egg. It’s delicious too!!!! P.S.- do stir well before eating.

Papaya Salad with Salted Egg [RM9.90] / Sticky Rice [RM2] – sweet and crispy green papaya and greens dressed in fish sauce, lime and chilies were good, but the only down side for me was the overdone and dry sticky rice.

Braised Beef Noodles [RM11.90] – one word to describe this dish – SUPERB!! The rich and aromatic dark broth was the result of being cooked for more than 10 hours; the beef brisket was amazingly tender and flavorsome; the rice noodles were done just right. Overall, highly recommended and worthy of the price!!!!

Streat Thai Tom Yum Noodles [RM15.90] – a bowl of springy noodles topped with a splash of tom yum paste, egg and seafood. If you would like to eat along like how others locals, add-in some sugar, fish sauce or chili flakes for enhanced version, I mean flavors!!

Coconut Ice Cream with Sticky Rice [RM10.90] – the perfectly done sticky rice dressed with shredded coconut came with scoops of coconut ice cream at the side – perfect combination and seriously good!!!

Red Ruby with Coconut Milk [RM6.90

Mango Sticky Rice [RM9.90] – one of the famous and classic Thailand desserts. The perfectly done sticky rice covered in a coconut milk sauce and served with alongside fresh mango was charming!!! We were told that the mango was extremely sweet on that day and true to their words – I guess it was our lucky day after all !!!!!

Overall Rating: 8/10. My Thai feast for that afternoon was delicious and satisfying.  No doubt, Streat Thai is a place where you can get affordable authentic Thai street food. If you happen to miss your Thailand trip back there, Streat Thai food might be the place you gotta visit!!!
